First Assist
The Ayabeh Athletes Ice Hockey training is in partnership with John Chabot, former NHL hockey player, and First Assist Charity. First Assist Charity works primarily with Indigenous youth to help promote education through sport. Much like Ayabeh Skills Academy, First Assists believe in using sport as a vessel to change lives. For Indigenous youth, hockey is much more than a sport, it's a way of life. Our goal is to make it accessible to all Indigenous youth who might not have the luxury of joining the game due to financial constraints. Athletes will have the opportunity to grow by participating in hockey and by learning the importance of teamwork, resilience, and hard work. They will also have the chance to play other sports as well including but not limited to, lacrosse, broom ball, basketball and softball.

Minwaashin Lodge
Minwaashin Lodge provides a range of programs and services to First Nations, Inuit and Métis women and children (regardless of status) who are survivors of domestic and other forms of violence, and who may also be suffering the effects of the residential school system. All programs and services are provided in the context of cultural beliefs and values to ensure a holistic approach is used as part of the healing journey.
